Kajsa Svensson from InterAct was invited by a clinic within Närhälsan, Västra Götalandsregionen to the Castle of Thorskog to lead a training day in Intercultural Competence. In the morning session, the focus was on increasing self-awareness and reflecting on personal values within the group. We compared these values with both what’s usual values in Sweden and for other cultures around the world.
The second half of the day was spent with the practical focus of exploring different techniques for how caregivers can interact with patients with different expectations about healthcare. In this session, the friendly and relaxing atmosphere made room for enthusiastic and deep-going conversations, sharing personal anecdotes and trying new ways in roleplays.
